ECU malfunction |
The engine ECU has detected a warning alarm that has been read by the DSE controller. The exact error may or may not be displayed on the DSE controller. In this case it may be necessary to connect a diagnostic tool to the engine ECU. |

Negative Phase Sequence |
The ‘Negative Phase Sequence’ warning is triggered in the event that the DSE controller has detected a load imbalance on the generator output that has reached or exceeded the maximum threshold allowed. The load imbalance can cause negative sequence currents in the alternator stator windings. The maximum permissible imbalance of one phase current to another is setup as a percentage of total generator load current. Possible causes:
Possible remedies:

Battery Under Voltage |
The ‘Battery Under Voltage’ warning is triggered in the event that the DC supply to the DSE controllers has reached or fallen below the threshold for the allowed time limit. Possible causes:
|
Short Circuit |
The ‘Short Circuit’ warning is triggered during overload conditions caused by a short circuit on the generator output / bus. Possible causes:
Inspect and test generator wiring and output connections for shorts, disconnect the load to help determine and isolate the cause of the problem i.e. if fault is on generator or on the load / load cables. Do not operate the generator if a short is measured or suspected - always wait until the generator is thoroughly inspected and repaired. Refer to the alternator manufacturer’s procedures for troubleshooting and testing the alternator components. |
